On March 14 and 15, a workshop meeting of the European EPyRIS project organized by the EcoIuris Group took place at the Faculty of Economic and Business Sciences of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
The meeting was attended by the majority of members participating in the project, from France, Spain and Portugal. The workshop served to update the progress in the project, to share all the material developed in the time since the previous meeting, as well as to discuss improvements and future lines of action.
The EPyRIS project (Joint Strategy for the Protection and Restoration of Ecosystems Affected by Forest Fires) is a European project whose activity is focused on the SUDOE area (Portugal, Spain and southern France). The objective of EPyRIS is to anticipate critical situations through the analysis of data from different territorial levels, optimize post-fire emergency procedures and disseminate methodologies developed based on previous experiences.
